About the Artist
Kaitey Designs
Kaitey's love of art started at a young age. If you couldn't findh er as a kid, you could always count that she was somewhere drawing something either in her sketchbook or even on the walls of her bedroom. Instead of her family discouraging her passion, they embraced it bu buying her all the art supplies she could ever want. Her grandmother, who was also an artist, started taking her to museums every weekend, to see the type of art she was interested in and what she wanted to create. None of the artist resoated with her until she found Salvador Dali, a legendary surrealist artist. At the young age of 8 years old, Kaitey became the youngest docent recorded at the museum, giving tours to groups as large as 40 people at once. The Salvador Dali museum even featured her own art twice throughout the years.
Her transformation as an artist has been an extraordinary journey. Growing up in Florida, she grew as an artist, focusing on her artistic studies until she moved to North Carolina. There, she found a place she can lt her art flourish and grow- college. Kaitey studied Studio Art at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, keeping her eye onthe prize of one day being a successful artist.
Even though She has been oput of college for smoe time now, learning never stops. Growing up, her mom helped her art grow each year by assigning a body part to practice over and over for the entire summer. Eyes, noses, hands, feet, mouths- each summer her art would get better and more anotomically correct. To this day, Kaitey still impliments these practices her mother taught her.
Today, Kaitey lives in Derry, New Hampshire with her husband, Luke, and her lovely 2 cats. Inspiration can come from anything and everything, and from these inspirational surroundings and unbounding support from her family and friends, Kaitey continues to work on her art and her commissions.
